Walkthrough & Notes

The quest will take you into an instanced version of Nimrond by way of the Dead Cave entrance. The cave has a long passageway occupied by Orcs, that open up into a bigger hall. Upon entering the ancient hall, two Cave-troll Brutes will attack, followed by the White Mountain Chieftain. It is possible to fight them one by one, by cautiously approaching the hall and staying in the passageway. When prompted, run away from the Dead back to the cave entrance. Do not exit before speaking to Arvaethor.

Quest Text

Bestowal Dialogue "Arvaethor accompanies you into a cavern underneath the White Mountains in an attempt to push back the orkish forces from entering the Vale." Background Arvaethor asks for you to accompany him into a cavern under the White Mountains and drive the Orkish forces back. Objective 1 Speak to Arvaethor or Use the whistle to summon your new friend if you become separated You and Arvaethor enter the cave. You should speak to Arvaethor. Arvaethor: 'Let us push these Orcs back into the depths of the mountain. We will strike fear into them and they shall never again return to the surface!' Objective 2 Push the Orkish forces further into the mountain Defeat Orcs under the mountain (0/5) or Use the whistle to summon your new friend if you become separated Push the Orkish forces further into the mountain. This cave is lined with the ruins of some ancient path.' Defeated Orc (5/5) The Orc chieftain guards the entrance to an ancient hall White Mountain Chieftain says, "Attack the intruders!" Objective 3 Defeat the Orc chieftain or Use the whistle to summon your new friend if you become separated Defeat the Orc chieftain. White Mountain Chieftain says, "Pathetic!" A foreboding chill permeates the air of the cave Objective 4 Stay in the cave and learn of what is happening or Use the whistle to summon your new friend if you become separated Dead seep into the room.
